Good Manners I-   an hour each week for 8 weeks.   Starts Tuesday eve 6:30 PM on May 18 at MARSHFIELD YWCA on Ferry Hill Rd.   First class no dogs.           Click here http://www.ymarshfield.org/?page=about-us&sub=branch for directions.Certificate of DHPP and Rabies must be given with registration.  Kennel cough vaccine (bordatella) is recommended but not required.     The first class is for us to explain the use of a clicker.You do not have to use the clicker but it is a great tool to have in your "toolbox" of training techniques.We will discuss our 7 Tools for Success.   We will demonstrate the types of training aids we recommend you use which are the Comfort Trainer head halter by Miriam Fields Babineau and the Sense-ible (front connect) harness by Softtouch Concepts.          Attention/look exercises will be explained and demonstrated as you will be working on these core exercises at home before you come into class week 2.      The next several classes will include instruction on body blocking, targeting, how to remove behaviors such as mouthing,jumping, countersurfing(stealing food/objects off counters) as well as working on increasing your dog's understanding of stay .Explaining to the owners about the the 3 Ds (duration, distance, distraction) and how those 3D's relate to getting better stay (self control) from your dog.We will also work on recall/come and heel /loose-leash walking .
