Clicker Training attempt #2
Well Fiona and I tried our clicker training again so she can learn her name and to respond to it. I am finding that she is most definitely responsive to food rewards more than anything else. She resonds to her name every time without fail, but once the game is over, she only responds to her name about 50% of the time!! Did anyone else have this problem?

Have your clicker and rewards ready and be random with your training schedule. Do not let her see the clicker and rewards when you begin. If you say her name and she DOES NOT respond to her name take a treat and wave it under her nose and say "TOO BAD" and place the treat back in your treat pouch or pocket and turn away from the dog and do not look or speak to her for about 20-30 seconds. Then try again you should get a response this time. If you do click and reward. If not do the "TOO BAD "nose tease with treat and ignore her . You might have to have a higher food value and remember to keep the distraction level and distance low in the beginning trials.Let me know if this helps.Karen L Lambrecht CPDT_KA
