Reactive Dog

Reactive Rover I Class is 7 weeks / 1 hour each week .Max 6 dogs per class Week one No Dogs This class is geared to teach handler skills to manage the dog and teaching the dogs an alternative reaction to a stimulus ( dog ,bikes,cars ,skateboaders ,or just people)Dog to dog agression or reactivity behaviors are  lunging snapping growling or barking at other dogs on or off leash.People aggressive or reactive dogs must be evaluated before being allowed into class. Clicker training is recommended, but not required. Week one NO DOGS you will receive a clicker and handouts to get you started and clicker savy .    If you would like to read more about working with your reactive dog we recommend "CLICK to CALM" by Emma Parsons and "FEISTY FIDO" by Patricia McConnell.Requirements:1. If dog unknown to one of the instructors and/or does not already wear a head halter, an evaluation and or fitting of head halter is required. Exceptions to this do happen because of dog breed or physical /medical reason but must have instructor ok for exception.Please contact us to schedule the evaluation prior to the start of class. Price of head halter not included in class price.2. All handlers must be 18 yrs or older.Two handlers per dog recommended.3. TWO 4 or 6 foot leash required. (dogs to be kept 7-12 feet apart during class). you can have the second leash attached to a harness or regular collar. SAFETY FIRST.4.Bait bags required. Purchase at your local pet store or use a carpenter's apron.5. TONS of SOFT, TEENEY TINY FOOD REWARDS.
